BBC - Holiday - Destinations - Cornwall
BBC - Holiday - Destinations - Cornwall: "A short bike ride away from the farmhouse is Cornwall's newest and most exciting attraction - the Eden Project. It's a masterpiece of engineering, a complex hidden away in an old clay pit. Covering the size of 35 football pitches, some of the roof panels of the biodomes are larger than a London taxi. Inside is a giant global garden; climates and plants range from the Tropics to South Africa, and from the Med to California. Guides and storytellers provide information about the project."
Hotels and Guest Houses at Eden Project Accommodation
Hotels and Guest Houses at Eden Project Accommodation: "The Eden Project has become the most visited attraction in Cornwall. Built in a disused clay pit close to St Austell, the landscape has been transformed into a breathtaking attraction to both entertain and educate.
The two main Geodesic Domes are now well established, with work now being planned on a third. Currently the environments are a rain forest similar to that of the Amazon Basin and a dry temperate region modelled on the characteristics of regions such as the Mediterranean or California.
As well as being a major tourist attraction, the Eden Project is a huge educational and research facility producing a great deal of information about the flora and fauna of the earth and how we interact and depend on it.

Eden Project - About
Eden Project - About: "If you believe there should be a place...
... that celebrates life and puts champagne in the veins
...is all about education but doesn't feel like school
...to hold conversations that might just go somewhere
... where research isn't white coats in secret but shared exploration to help us all
...that is a sanctuary for all who think the future too precious to leave to the few - because it belongs to us all.
Then welcome
That's why we built this place and that's where the money goes.
The Eden Project is
* An International Visitor Destination"

The National Seal Sanctury Cornwall England
The National Seal Sanctuary is home to Britain’s leading marine animal rescue centre. Set in 40 acres of beautiful country on the picturesque Helford Estuary nr Helston.
First started in the 1950’s from a beach café at St Agnes, it was relocated to Gweek in 1975 as more pups were reported injured and needing our help.
With the rescue work as our first priority the sanctuary can help as many as 30 pups every winter, with emergency calls coming in day or night.
The Sanctuary is now home to many grey seals that couldn’t be released, as well as common seals, sea lions, goats, ponies and more recently short clawed Asian otters.

Newlyn -Cornwall- A Cornish Fishing Village - a short guide with pictures.
Newlyn -Cornwall- A Cornish Fishing Village - a short guide with pictures.: "Wander the Quays, get up at Dawn and see the fish being sold, in the bustling spotlessly clean Fish Market. The fish in rectangular baskets of many colours, neatly stacked, and ticketted waiting for a buyer in the Auction. Some destined for restaurants in Cornwall, but most for foreign buyers Ice being delivered to trawlers about to put to sea, provisions being loaded for what may be a trip lasting nearly two weeks.
The smell of diesel and grease in the air, chains that are dragged along the sea bottom in front of the net, metal doors used to keep the net open, gill nets heaped in tangles of green in every spare corner. Plastic tubs containing long lines, neatly coiled ready for the next trip. Hooks stuck in rows. If you are really lucky you may even see Sammy a one eyed seal and a right show off. The Lifeboat Mabel Alice waiting for the emergency call. Don't trip on the gear and nets piled high. Keep away from unfenced drops, boats landing their catch, or loading stores and ice prior to going to sea. You enter the working harbour solely at your risk.
Why not visit the Pichard Works ? Where Cornish Salt Pilchards are pressed using screw presses before being packed into wooden barrels for export to Italy, much as they have done for the last 90 years. Or see the shipwrights progress on the restoration of the Cornish Lugger 'Ripple', built in 1896, and the fascinating black and white photographs displayed on the yard's walls. There are lots of places to stay in and around West Cornwall Bed and Breakfast."

Mousehole Cornwall- picturesque fishing village in a beautiful setting
Mousehole Cornwall- picturesque fishing village in a beautiful setting: "Mousehole- a picturesque fishing village in a beautiful setting. Like Newlyn and Penzance sacked by a Spanish raiding party in July 1595 when the whole village except one house was burnt to the ground. That house, Squire Keigwins, whose owner lost his life defending it, is now the oldest remaining. A hundred years ago it was a bustling place, with the harbour crowded with fishing boats, landing locally caught pilchards, destined to be..."
